During the school year, you will be required to select your courses for the following school year. The vast majority of you will have all of your math and science classes required by the state of Texas completed by the end of your junior year. Because of this, you might find it tempting to not do a math or science class during your senior year. This is a big mistake! Colleges will review your academic transcript and will red flag applications that have “academic gaps.” So, if you plan on becoming a doctor, you better take that additional math and science class!
